Brief description about company
GdaÅ„sk University of Technology is one of the leading technical universities in Poland, with 8 faculties, around 18000 students and 1300 academic teachers. The DATASET project is carried out by the hydrogeology group, which is a part of Department of Geotechnical and Hydraulic Engineering at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Our group has expertise in hydrogeology of coastal and glacial areas. Our research topics include modeling flow and contaminant transport in groundwater and vadose zone, coupling models for different hydrological compartments, surface water – groundwater interaction, field and laboratory measurements of soil hydraulic properties, groundwater vulnerability assessment, saltwater intrusion and climate change impact on groundwater.

Poland has 510 km of coastline and the sea level rise in the southern coast of the Baltic Sea exceeds the global average. The results of DATASET project will be crucial for enhancing resilience of our coastal communities. We are very happy to work with experts from 4 other countries on a topic that has both global and local relevance.
