Date: 14/09/2026 - 18/09/2026
Place: BuDapest (hungary)
Description:
We are delighted to invite you to the 53rd World Groundwater Congress of the International Association of Hydrogeologists, taking place from 14 to 18 September 2026. This prestigious event returns to Hungary after half a century, and we are proud to welcome you again to the beautiful city of Budapest.. The topics of the conference highlight the diverse and critical roles that groundwater plays in environmental sustainability, resource management, and societal well-being. Thus, we aim to provide a platform for leading experts, researchers, and professionals from around the globe to engage in discussions and explore the multifaceted role of groundwater in our world.
DATASET section:
"Data-Driven and Hybrid Methods for Groundwater Vulnerability Assessment"

Ongoing environmental pressures - urban expansion, intensified agricultural practices, industrial development and climate change - require developing sustainable groundwater protection and risk prevention strategies, where groundwater vulnerability assessments play a key role in supporting water management and decision-making processes. The increasing availability of high-resolution datasets allows for more advanced, reliable and transferable assessment tools - including statistical methods, machine and deep learning techniques - and hybrid approaches. The objective of this session is to gather case studies and scientific contributions focusing on the development of novel index-based, data-driven and hybrid methods, and real-world applications supporting groundwater protection and water management. Contributions that link methods to management-relevant outcomes, adaptation strategies, and practical case studies spanning from local, to regional, to continental scale studies.

Event: 13thWorld Congress of EWRA on Water Resources and Environment
Date: 24/06/2025 - 28/06/2025
June 2025
Place: Palermo (Italy)
Description:
The 13th World Congress of the European Water Resources Association (EWRA) on Water Resources and Environment under the title “New challenges in understanding and managing water-related risks in a changing environment” will be held in Palermo, Italy, June 24th-28th, 2025 with the HYCLIC Lab of the University of Palermo as organizer. The Congress promotes international cooperation and research exchanges in the field of environmentally sustainable water resources management. The aim of the Congress is to discuss innovation in water sciences to address current and future challenges and to assist in improving the capacity of countries to mitigate and adapt to climate change and new water related hazards. The Congress intends to be a global forum for scientists and engineers from diverse countries and cultures, who will interact, exploring ways and strategies to face global and regional challenges on water resources and ecosystems. A wide range of cutting-edge topics will be presented and discussed in Congress, encompassing the most crucial aspects of Water Resources Management and Environment on a global scale. Key principles behind these topics are sustainability, resilience, hydraulic and hydrological invariance, and the non-stationarity of hydro-meteorological variables and processes in a climate change context.

EVENT: 7TH EURO-MEDITERRANEAN CONFERENCE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INTEGRATION
Date: 23/06/2025 - 26/06/2025
Place: REGGIO CALABRIA (Italy)
Description:
The 7th Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (EMCEI-2025) builds on prior achievements to position itself as the key venue in the Euro-Mediterranean region for showcasing and debating cutting-edge environmental science research from this region and around the world. EMCEI-25 aims to gather high-quality, original research papers for publication following peer review in the proceedings (indexed in Scopus) and in topical collections (special issues) of the Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration and other journals on various multidisciplinary topics linked to the evolution and development of the Euro-Mediterranean environment in the past, present, and future. The main objectives of the conference are to support research and innovation, promote the exchange of scientific knowledge, and foster collaboration between Euro-Mediterranean communities and their counterparts around the world. The conference participants will have an opportunity to attend several presentations on new indicators and directions in research, development and innovations in the multidisciplinary fields of the environmental sciences. To this end, several high-profile scientists will participate in this conference. Moreover, a social and cultural program is planned, where, participants can take a little time out to explore the wonders of Reggio Calabria, chief city of Calabria and the oldest city in the region.
